The tapestry is as far as I have taken the mola (reverse applique) so far. In tegrating it with other techniques like regular applique will be next along with design a quilt for the Dallas quilt show. The two years I have been, separated by at least 15 years, I have seen nothing like what I do. It is coming down to refining the skills to be flawless and maybe then building a following.
I spend a large part of the day working fabric and am looking forwad to this break after this sale and the elementary schoo fair. I can get back to painting which has been nagging at me for a while. Sketching out designs for paintings and resloving technical issues with materials and reactions. I'm finally getting GAC100 for oil painting on paper. I have been deeply concerned with archivality. A little voice always reminds me that is what Georgia O'Keefe was known for in some circle. Solidly made and you know you are not buying a piece of crap. Well, hopefully.
Hand quilted. I was told the 3-dimensionality does not come across in the photo. Like doritoes I will be making more. I think I've found my niche.
