The hail must of did the trick. Problems in my work room kept me from the work desk. Prickly and hot seem the rule of the day even with the air conditioning on. The temperature drop before three and my mind shifted. Following the urge and the requests, I started sewing again. One and a half weeks are left to my hiatus, but dipping my toes in the water seem a better beginning than jumping in without direction. Picking up with the show chair's theme for the rest of the time will prepare me to dig into the quilt sandwich without remorse. As for rest, this time off has made a small difference. I noticed that through working I mask pain. For the last two weeks I dodge damage with naproxen sodium, water, salads, and new routines. However, falling asleep with my hands contorted beneath a pillow or akimbo pinned under my side does not help the cause. I had to explain to someone yesterday why I wear goggle when weed trimming the lawn. He understood as I explained how if Broadway's Tommy Tune damaged his legs, arms, or voice, that would sum up the end of his career. As an artists I have to protect myself anyway I can against losing fingers, arms, or my eyes. If I do that might be the end of my career as well. I ended the conversation with telling him that some insurance companies cover body parts for some individuals. He got the point. Word got around town. Some men are wearing goggles now when they work outside.
Meanwhile, I have more work to do on the website and items to produce for the FUMC Harvest Craft Bazaar on October 6, 2018. If you have time in October, feel free to come.
As ever, stay hungry and curious.
