Accomplishement is that I can construct the insects more solidly and not have to rely on glue 100% for the canvases. I can't help but plan a canvas form multiple elements. But I still haven't resolved the possible problems of painting oils on top of wax. Why can;'t I just paint a picture of fruit. I keep going for complex assemblages. Which is an outgrowth of my M.F.A. show. It's is just that it takes me longer to get through all of the tests and chemical resolutions and fighting with a circular saw to cut a stright line before I can settle in to start on what I am confident about. Maybe my methods and research will give the product more validity. A great foundatio ncan lead to a better product.
The small alphacadarium pieces are dry. Now they have to be mounted on 1 by 3s and glazed. I resloved to make them test pieces because contsruction was on paper glued to wood and not primed with GAC, per Golden's instructions later found. I am happy with them and have no profound meaning in them. They are simply inviting the poetic and may not go beyong simple toying. I am hoping toying witll become seriousness when I gear up the scale. Devoid of narrative makes it difficult for me to pitch for some, but hopefully what is seen is the beautiful paint application.
