The last exploration I have enjoyed bridges off of the past two years of trial and error finding a subject for design.
Horses is where I left off last year building complicated drawings. I moved into the transparent encaustic to build a layer of depth and color and maybe just maybe start building my own symbology. Right now I am lacking an achor that I can truly say is mine. Like Keith Herring's running man. Some image or color like "International Klien Blue" that I can take off and build anchor tone and variations off of. What I have on the board right now are collages built off of design occurances in nature. I'm sure I can bulid off this for years. Knowing that I want to meld into where I was at the M.F.A. show leads me to some hopeful ideas, but collecting the detrius I need for variances in structure and texture worries me. Storage and the like.
I'll be posting the collages in a week or so, after naming, signing and photographing.
