After two years he is finished. I'm trying not to be a good artist and pick it to pieces after completion. I did my best is all I can say and am in love with the approach all over again. I wish I ad a little Iphone to capture the way the light dances across the room reflected from the shisha mirrors. And please don't mind my packing tube and puppet. I took the picture before realizing I needed a clear shot. It is to cold and wet to photograph outside, so I'll wait a bit before I submit a full shot from in front of the piece. I have not set my heart on a title yet, but I'm hoping it will come in the next few weeks. Something about stars and astronomy come to mind. I think the horsehead nebula is red, maybe. But also maybe a title closer to heart. I opted to for something about the materials since this morning. The bound stalks are from a hibiscus plant. They are the dried remains of stems not harvested till late Fall or early winter. Still something closer to my heart may work as well. One would think I don't have to look that far, but sometimes at the close of a day, my mind is mush. Hope all is well with you and I'm off to bind the next piece and finish the ornamentation. Speaking of which the piece to the left may receive an additional application. Right now he dwell in primitive quilting. I'm tempted for a tribal/animistic layer/accent. All of course thanks to my neighbor to remind me to keep pushing it. True right now it is acceptable, but tame. I need to remember who I was in art school and remember those approaches to counsel me through. I'll get there. I'm positive about that. |
